Metamask Wallet - A Community Platform - us

MetaMask is a decentralized, non-custodial Ethereum-based wallet that allows users to store, buy, send, convert, and swap crypto tokens.

Metamask is a digital wallet that lets you hold various digital assets, purchase tokens such as Ethereum and Polygon, send and receive tokens, purchase and sell NFTs in marketplaces, and issue music collectibles.

Metamask is, first and foremost, a browser extension. It supports Firefox, Brave, and Microsoft Edge, as well as Android and iOS via Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively.

Metamask should now direct you to the Chrome Web Store page.

  • Click ‘Add to Chrome’

  • A pop-up named “Add ‘Metamask’?” should appear.

  • Select ‘Add Extension’, and a fresh page will open.

  • Click on “Begin Now”

  • Click “Create a Wallet”

You should use a secure password for Metamask. Furthermore, you should create an entirely new password for the account, not reuse an old password.

Finally, check the “I have read and agree to the Terms of Use” box.

You’ll be directed to watch a brief video on how to secure your Metamask wallet, which includes writing down and storing a secret recovery phrase (a group of 12 words that allows you, or anyone else who has it, to access your Metamask wallet and all of its contents).

  • Click “Next.”

Once you’ve clicked on the greyed-out area to reveal your 12-word recovery phrase, store the phrase somewhere safe — this step is very important.

  • Click “Next” after writing it down or finding an alternative way to keep it private and readily available.

Never, under any circumstances, should you give your recovery phrase to anyone.

You should keep a copy for yourself, but keep it safe.

If your computer crashes and you don’t have your recovery phrase, you won’t be able to access your Metamask wallet EVER!

  • Put the 12 words in the correct order to confirm your secret recovery phrase.
